Golden rules for using natural gas

In order that your safety and comfort should not be affected, we kindly ask you to make sure that, when using natural gas appliances, the following basic rules shall be complied with:

  • Check and sweep the chimneys twice a year 
  • Do not leave gas appliances on, unattended 
  • Do not obdurate the chimneys  
  • Ensure permanent ventilation of the rooms in which open flame gas appliances are on (for e.g. gas cookers, gas rings etc.) 
  • Air the rooms before turning on gas appliances 
  • Should you smell gas, immediately call the emergency numbers.
  • Do not use makeshift appliances as  they are a permanent danger of explosion which can  bring damage and even casualties

 

What should you do if you smell gas? 

  • Do not panic! 
  • Do not switch on the lights and avoid using mobile phones! 
  • Open the windows and doors for room ventilation! 
  • Do not use matches, lighters, or any other sources of fire! 
  • Immediately leave the room or the building!
  • Shut off the valve located at the entrance of the building!
  • Immediately call from outside the building the emergency numbers!

Verifications and Revision

We are concerned about your safety and so should you!

We are making our priority of ensuring your safety in using natural gas, therefore we would like to remind you that, according to current legal requirements, the customer is obliged to have the natural gas installation periodically verified and revised by an operator which is authorized for this purpose by the National Regulatory Authority for Energy.

  • Technical revision of the in-house installation should be performed once every two years
  • Periodic revision of the in-house installation should be performed once every ten years.
  • Periodic revision and technical verification of natural gas in-house installations are obligatory.

You can choose an authorized operator in the performance of this operation as follows: 

  • Refer to the lists of authorized companies which are displayed in E.ON Energie România Customer Care Centers

  • Go to http://www.anre.ro/   

As the Distribution System Operator, E.ON Gaz Distribuţie has the legal obligation to check whether the obligatory revisions and revisions were performed within the periods of time established by the legal requirements in place, otherwise the company will have to take the measure of shutting down the natural gas until the outstanding verification or revision is performed.

We kindly recommend the rigorous performance of the technical verifications and periodic revisions at the dates established, in order to avoid unpleasant incidents.
